About Lynne McVernon

I specialise in devising and co-writing for performance, writing fiction. Trained at Wimbledon School of Art, Regional Theatres Trainee Directors’ Scheme and BA in English Literature, University of Reading. Directed in theatres throughout the UK including: Queens Theatre Hornchurch, Nuffield Theatre Southampton, Dundee Rep (director of touring company), Citizens Theatre Glasgow (TAG), Young Vic and National Theatres and drama schools including Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now Conservatoire), Guildford School of Acting and Rose Bruford College. Initiated and ran Tayside Writers’ Festival, Dundee and founded Fable Productions – a young people’s creative writing company, Berkshire. Also worked in mental health including Broadmoor High Security Hospital (mentoring patients writing their annual variety show then directing it), and as NHS Healing Arts Manager in Surrey.

Over fifty original and co-written writing credits for theatre, dramatised three Dickens novels for GSA, adapted Priestley and Shakespeare for BBC World Service Radio.
